Waterside Housing Cooperative is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Lək̓ʷə́ŋən (Lekwungen) Peoples, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations.
You can find us at 2820 Harriet Road, where Harriet Road meets Lotus Street, overlooking the Gorge Waterway.
We have enjoyed this beautiful setting since 1985.
Our two buildings consist of 27 residential units with a variety of 1, 2 & 3 bedroom configurations.
Because we offer affordable housing in today’s housing market, we rarely have vacant units. However, we do maintain an internal and an external wait list.
If you wish to submit an application, you must expect a long wait.

We are not able to offer rental assistance at this time; in other words, no subsidy is available.
Once on our wait list, you must keep it up-to-date. We ask that you send us a note every six months or so letting us know that you are still interested, and advising us of any important changes in the information you have provided to us – contact info, household makeup, significant income changes, specific accessability requirements, etc.
Share purchase is $2000. This is refundable on termination of membership assuming you do not owe any money to the co-op. Your share purchase does not accrue interest. Also, Waterside is a non-equity co-op, which means your share purchase is not an investment and you will own no part of the co-op. You will own a share in Waterside Housing Co-operative, which in turn owns the assets of the co-operative society./
Please note that active participation in the affairs of the co-op is expected of all members. Co-ops run on volunteer member effort. Along with many other cooperatives, Waterside is hoping to ramp up the level of participation.
That is why on your application and among your references, expect that we will verify that you have a demonstrable record of getting involved and volunteering.
